Which one do you choose and Why? Subjective or Objective Examinations

Introduction

Hi everyone! Everyone is bothered about their examinations, isn’t it? As you all know, there are two types of examination- Subjective and Objective examinations. Objective exams include multiple-choice, true-false, matching, and completion whereas subjective exams include short-answer essays, extended-response essays, problem- solving, and performance tests. Nowadays entrance exams are more objective than subjective. Which one do you feel is good and Why?

I saw the clock struck six in the morning. I am also a student like you. A thought came to my mind, why can’t I write about the exam I like? It would be a useful deal, I thought. Oh! It’s all tiring to beat about the bush. Let’s come to the point. Essay exams check the ability of the students to construct than objective exams. Is it so? I feel studying from school life to college life about various subjects is a backbone to writing subjective exams rather than objective exams. Student’s ability to build their future depends on the skill they acquire from the start of their life in schooling. Because of this, I feel subjective exams have in upper hand over objective exams.

Not only because of this, subjective exams also require more thorough student preparation and study time than objective-level exams. Yes, it’s true. It checks the student’s creativity, sense of humor, knowledge, and hard work. I would like to be a creator rather than just a connector, What about you?

Essay exams require writing skills whereas objective exams do not. Subjective exams teach a person how to write. Many personalities have become great just because they construct lines in their brain; they never tick the correct lines Essay that others say. Isn’t it so?

Objective exams encourage guessing. My heart pounded when the exams were nearer. Many of my batch-mates picked up the deal to study late at night. We thought we should clear the objective exams at once and broke our comfort zone in fear. One of my friends who weren’t studying came to us with a smile and said ‘Anyways it’s an objective level exam. Why are you all worrying? Just chill.’ We didn’t bother about him and started studying. But I was repeatedly remembering what he said- ‘Tick something and check your fate’. When we saw the results he also cleared exams like us. We were shocked and thought we were useless. Think how we felt!

Tests are a useful tool in education for assessing student’s knowledge acquisition. Isn’t it so? Many say that in subjective exams people write stories and get marks. Why can’t they think if there is a perfect evaluator who wants to check students’ learning progress, it would be fine? Objective tests often feature questions with a single correct answer, whereas subjective assessments encourage students to demonstrate understanding in their own words.

Objective tests do not allow for human bias or the interpretation people think. The machine can swiftly evaluate objective assessments, saving evaluators time people think. But it is going in the wrong way. Many are taking it as an advantage and altering exam quality by their money power, influence, and other stuff. Don’t you think it’s true? The higher-order thinking skills evaluation is destructed.

Objective tests do not examine the attitudes and values of students, which are the vital components of their overall development. It also does not let students provide information about the reasons behind the correct answer.

Even a layman can answer an objective exam I feel. Are you happy with the objective exams? Subjective exams assess writing, reading, arts, history, philosophy, political science, or literature whereas objective exams do not.

Subjective tests tend to be more versatile than objective tests. It checks an individual’s talent by studying higher motor functions and the rationale behind their responses. Many say subjective tests are time-consuming. Is it so? I don’t feel like that. A multiple-choice examination, for example – hinders speaking and writing in the classroom. Subjective exams help people in writing a comprehensive paragraph such as a complaint letter, pinpointing content, registering, and formatting.

Objective tests provide answers that are either true or false and can be scored objectively. Subjective tests provide a judgment to the candidates appearing for the exams like clients in the court and the evaluator like the judge decides. Objective exams are to be conducted in the classes as add on to the subjective exams but only objective exams alone cannot decide a candidate’s preparation I feel. What do you say?

Some people get stressed up due to objective level exams, as the concept they have read truly the whole day turns out as wastage when they write them wrong unknowingly. Many people have come across missing the sequence in the objective level questions and ticking the wrong options in their OMR unknowingly which leads to low scores. Many like the logo “Don’t study hard, study smart”. It was trending in my school days in my locality. In life the only aim is to work hard, smartness should be an add-on. But the hard work only gives fruitful results. I feel subjective level exams is very much essential for structuring the framework of society. I hope for the best from the younger generations like us to construct a better type of society for the future of the world. “Knowledge is power”. “Make hay while the sun shines”.
