Introduction

Written by Muhammad Uthman El-Muhammady, this book was first published in 1977 as a chapter in the book Islam and Modernism by Wan Muhammad Ali, published by the Bureau Lessons and Research, Malaysian Islamic Youth. Since this first issue, this book never reprinted or published again. After 40 years passed and after the author ie Sheikh Muhammad Uthman El-Muhammady died in 2013, Religious Council Islam and Malay Customs of Kelantan called to review this writing, editing it and at the same time working on the publication of the second edition so that it can be read and studied by today’s young people who seem to be in great need of spiritual guidance and Islamic moral discourse in the lives of those who have no direction andseems to lose this Book Review common sense. As the author said, the cultivation of Islamic morals can solve moral problems faced by humans in all ages, because the truths in it are based on the unchanging human nature, whether those facts are about his own events or about his main attributes nor about the properties that are opposite to it. In the face of ambiguities about the essence of man in the relatively modern philosophical teachings, Islam came bring his teachings about human beings with attributes and concepts that can save him. There is no doubt, the understanding of Islamic morality as it is expressed in this book as well as its implementation in personal life and society, will lead to the success of human life which is truly natural saniyyah, which can save him from false teachings about human beings as they are found in modern philosophy. Before discussing the attributes of priority, it is necessary to discuss the occurrence of the insane first viewed from the perspective of spiritual psychology in Islam [1].

To find out about human events requires knowledge about some basic things such as what happens to the person itself, where it came from, where it will go and what purpose it was brought to here and how is it possible to achieve happiness and how is it otherwise. Seen in terms of his attributes, he also has the attributes of animals, angels and demons. Animals eat, drink, sleep and attack each other with others. So someone who focuses his attention and efforts on this field, so that’s the level. Satan is busy with the work of slandering and creating enmity and fraud. So someone who is busy with such activities included in the cursed group. As for the angels, they reached their happiness in witnessing the beauty of His Holiness and them freed from all animal traits, namely without the traits of anger and without lustful desires. So someone who has a pure character strives to succeed in the angelic qualities in him and he achieves happiness with knowing God, freed from lust and anger. He knows his own origin and he knows the way to his Lord. It reached the level of being able to witness greatness and divine beauty. It is necessary for the insane to know that it is endowed with two instincts animality ie desires and anger. This is bestowed upon him not by purpose so that the insane is conquered by him and enslaved by him, even so that he is insane using those desires as his rise and the anger as his weapon, and he fought until he succeeded in his journey to achieve happiness and perfection by God’s permission. Good management is a person’s ability to make decisions to achieve the best goal. This relates to the purpose of achieving great virtue and important as well as noble goals, whether related to oneself or others such as household administration and others. As for purity in understanding, then the meant is the speed in reaching an understanding of related causes with a matter so that the consequences that can bring are achieved to virtue and praiseworthy things. While mental intelligence means the ability to make decisions in the face of different opinions and differences in understanding. With such ability then safety can be achieved accomplished. As for a good or accurate guess, then it means the ability to achieve.

The truth is related to the things that are faced without thinking too much or by requiring arguments.

Cultivating Islamic morals can solve the moral problems faced by human beings in all ages, because the truths therein are based the facts about humans that do not change, well those facts are about his own events as described in spiritual psychology, nor about its main properties or properties that are opposite to it. In facing the ambiguities about the essence of man in the teaching of modern philosophy relative, Islam confronts its teachings about humans with their attributes. In this teaching man can find his true face and that which saves him. In his teachings about the main qualities, humans discover the true qualities of perfection is in his private policy, though not yet fully engendered; in the description about the abominable qualities of man discovers the qualities that destroy his own face which must be eliminated in order to form the true self. A summary of Islamic teachings about Noble morals are a clear savior for people who are in modern nature that teaches false teachings about humans and their priorities. What is the opposite of it. Finally it should be mentioned that the teaching in Islamic morals are not based on vain reflections, in fact they are grounded to the Islamic Tradition itself which originates from revelation and prophet hood as well pure experience from those who are authoritative in the proper sense. And already Of course, its cultivation requires the real Islamic life supported by the cultivation of valid and pure beliefs, with the implementation of spiritual duties with all his worship, as well as with the cultivation of life based on the will of God as is clear in the law. Cultivating these aspects along with understanding Islamic morality and its implementation will lead to human success forming a personality that is truly soft. At this point humans will knowing what it is to be human, he also knows the God who made him. That’s when it was achieve the meaning of his life and his existence which is full of meaning and secrets.
