Dr. Humberto Mendoza Rodríguez, professor at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, is the author of the book Notes on medical education, published by the Editorial Ciencias Médicas of Havana, where he summarizes his vast teaching-educational experience in the field of higher medical education (undergraduate and postgraduate).

The chapters in which this text is structured venture into the Didactics of Medical Sciences, as well as the theory of teaching and education, curricular design and evaluation by competencies. On the other hand, the fields of action of the training and development of human resources in the Cuban public health sector are contextualized, the theoretical- methodological conceptualization is deepened, reflected in models and didactic instruments used for the planning of the teaching process learning from education at work, or better, teach the future teacher to work with the methods and techniques used by Medical Pedagogy.

From the methodological perspective, Notes on medical education is based on 5 chapters, intimately and closely related to each other, 1 single annex and a bibliography. Among other hot topics, the author includes: «Society, university and health»; «Fundamentals of educational design in the field of medical education sciences»; «The sciences of medical education and their training processes»; «Competences and professional performance in the sciences of medical education and the quality of health services», among others no less important.
