Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) associated with risk factors like recurrent upper respiratory tract infections is considered as the most common cause of silent hearing impairment among children.OME is defined as the presence of fluid in the middle ear without signs and symptoms of acute ear infection. Synonyms of OME include Ear fluid (Glue Ear) and serous, secretory or nonsuppurative otitis media.
