Abstract

Cesarean section is one of the main operative procedures worldwide. Enhanced recovery after cesarean (ERAC) provides an evidenced-based system to reduce the risk of infection and improve maternal outcomes, functional recovery, maternal-infant bonding, and patient experience by decreasing pain and nausea. ERAC involves the multidisciplinary team efforts of the anesthesiologist, obstetrician, nursing, hospital staff, and patient. This study is an over view of the perioperative components of ERAC protocol and highlights the benefit of implementing them in our clinical practice.
