Abstract

Electromyography is a study that allows evaluating the motor and sensory function of the neuromuscular system through the recording of the electrical stimulus. There are few studies related to electromyography in patients with idiopathic or primary bruxism. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the electromyographic activity of the masseter and temporal muscles in a patient with primary bruxism before and after the use of the occlusal splint and the application of botulinum toxin.
