Abstract

Ethanomedicinal plant like Gymnosporia montana belonging to the family Celeastraceae commonly known as Vikalo in Gujarat. Ethan medicinally fresh leaves of Vikalo are chewed in tribal regions of Gujarat to cure jaundice. The present review includes ethnomedicinal, pharmacognostical, phytochemical and pharmacological activity of Gymnosporia montana.
