Tranexamic Acid and Application in Otorhinolaryngology: Literature Review

Abstract

Tranexamic acid (TA) is an antifibrinolytic drug used for the control of hemorrhages in the different disciplines of medicine. In otorhinolaryngology (ENT) it has multiple applications, both surgical and non-surgical, however, its effectiveness and safety have been controversial over time. Below is a review of the literature regarding this drug and its use in ENT, for divulgation in our environment.
