Kshetrimayum Vedmani Devi is an academician, researcher, and social entrepreneur from Manipur, India, with more than 25 years of teaching and 19 research experience in Food Science, Nutrition, and Therapeutic Diet. She has served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Home Science at Dhanamanjuri University and has also been associated with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Agricultural Institute of Sciences. Her academic work focuses on food habits, nutritional status, traditional dietary practices, and the ethnographic study of indigenous communities in Manipur, with particular attention to the Tarao, Kharam, Kom, Chiru, Rongmei, and Tangkhul tribes. Her research explores the relationship between traditional food systems, cultural identity, and public health, especially within tribal and rural contexts. She has contributed to studies on folk beliefs and practices related to food, dietary patterns, and community nutrition, and her work has been linked to both scholarly publication and grassroots development. In addition to her academic role, she is engaged in community entrepreneurship and rural development through initiatives that promote local food products, support farmers, and strengthen indigenous livelihoods. She has also been recognized through various professional honors and affiliations connected to teaching, research, women’s empowerment, and social development.
