Abstract

Crime analysis is an important issue for maintaining law and order situation under control. This particular social issue of crime needs to be handled with utmost efficiency. Use of GIS techniques made the process of detection of crime prone areas much more technical and precise. Hot spot analysis is a highly appreciated and applied technique of crime prone area detection. The current paper tries to give a very brief review of this particular technique. Various methods have been discussed which are included in hot spot analysis like Karnel density, cluster analysis and few more.
