Coffea arabica is a crucial livelihood and export earner in Ethiopia, and is sensitive to temperature, rainfall variability and climatic extremes. The range of climate-related impacts reported covers a wide variety of types of outcomes (yield/biomass, climatic suitability, local climate trends, farmer perceptions), and is measured by different methods and cannot be directly compared. The purpose of this review was to identify and synthesize the work done on the evidence of climate change/variability and Ethiopian Arabica coffee, and to determine the feasibility of a quantitative meta-analysis of coffee yield changes.
