Joycelynne Palmer is Biostatistics Core Director for the Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplantation Institute; she provides scientific oversight and statistical support (design, monitoring, analysis and reporting) for the Biostatistics Core and all hematology related programs. She has research interest and effort support pre-clinical and clinical studies concerning the major obstacles to disease control/cure of hematologic malignancies and successful hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). In 2005, she was named the Co-Core Director of the Biostatistics Core for the Lymphoma SPORE and Hematology/HCT Program Project Grants. In addition, she support the CMV and HIV/AIDS laboratories working on translational research in designing and analyzing pre-clinical studies and early phase gene transfer clinical trials. She work also supports the Radio immunotherapy and Cancer Immunotherapeutic laboratories, designing earlier (phase I/II) and later phase (phase III) radio immunotherapy-based clinical trials and early phase STAT3 clinical trials where the targeting of STAT3 is used to improve immunotherapy. She is collaborating investigator/named Senior Biostatistician on our first-in-human phase I CpG-STAT3 siRNA trials, first-in-human phase I small molecule studies in acute leukemia, and our phase I studies of TMLI-based HSCT in acute leukemia, multiple myeloma and lymphoma. She also serve on the Data and Safety Monitoring Committee and the Institutional Review B.
