Biography

Sevim Yagiz is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Medical History and Ethics at Halic University Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkiye. She earned her PhD in Medical History and Ethics from Istanbul University, where her doctoral research investigated the ethical issues surrounding oral and transoral robotic surgery. Her academic expertise spans medical ethics, health law, clinical research ethics, patient rights, and the ethical and legal implications of innovative healthcare technologies. Yagiz serves as a member of several university ethics committees and holds editorial positions, including Associate Editor of the American Journal of Medical Education and Advisory Board Member of the Turkiye Klinikleri Journal of Medical Ethics-Law and History. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on medical ethics, robotic surgery, artificial intelligence in medicine, and healthcare regulation, and actively contributes to international conferences in these fields.
