Biography

Dr. Chen brings over a decade of experience in health service research and clinical studies. She has held positions across various healthcare sectors, including academic institutions, government bodies, and healthcare industry. Her research focuses on economic evaluations of interventions in chronic diseases and the implementation of public health policies. Her work includes evaluating community-based smoking cessation interventions and tobacco control policies, diabetic eye disease screening, and novel drugs for Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C virus (HCV), which have contributed to enhancing smoking cessation services, establishing general diabetic clinics, changes in treatment guidelines for HBV and HCV. Currently at CUHK, Dr. Chen is actively engaged in developing and evaluating diverse healthcare service models in Hong Kong and mainland China, with a focus on screening and self-sampling initiatives for early detection and treatment of diseases like HBV and HPV, highlighting her dedication to advancing healthcare research and improving public health outcomes.
