Dr. Ananta Kumar Das presently is the Professor & Head of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering, at the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (Formerly the West Bengal University of Technology), India. In addition, he is looking after the International Student Centre (ISC), MAKAUT, WB as Director. Earlier, he was also the Director and Coordinator of Partnership Cell (now CCPTR), MAKAUT, WB for about 2 years. Prof. Das did his BSc (Honors) in Chemistry, BTech & MTech in Chemical Engineering, and obtained his Ph.D. (Tech) from Calcutta University. He has industrial experience of more than 24 years of his career in different MNCs and Govt. undertaking companies in senior management cadre (1985-2009). Before joining MAKAUT, WB in the year 2019, he held the post of Registrar at MCKV Institute of Engineering (an Autonomous NAAC-A Accredited Institute), Howrah, West Bengal, India for almost 2 years (2018-19) and prior to joining MCKVIE, he was the Professor & Head of the Chemical Engineering Department and Dean (Academic & Planning) of Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management (an Affiliated College of MAKAUT), Durgapur, WB for 9 years (2009-2018). He has the credit for publishing many papers in different National and International journals and presenting many papers at National, International conferences & seminars, delivering lectures, and attended a nos. of seminars and workshops in different Institutes and Organizations as speaker also as participants. Many of his present and past students are engaged in academics and research in Indian Premier Institutes and in abroad. Many of them are employed in top level industries also. He has published five (5) books for Industrial professionals and Engineering students in last 7 years. He guided one research scholar for the Ph.D. degree from NIT Durgapur and is guiding three more research scholars in NIT Durgapur & MAKAUT, WB at present.
