Nurcan Kilinc-Ata is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Sultan Qaboos University. As well as she is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Research Laboratory for S&T Studies at the National Research University "Higher School of Economics" in Moscow and a Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF). She is working energy, mineral and environmental economics.

Her current work focuses on increasing resource use for energy transition technologies, determining decarbonization drivers and challenges, including public perceptions, and assessing how important policies are in determining market outcomes. She has published several peer-reviewed journal articles that advance the use of economic theories to address challenges in achieving clean energy transition and market efficiency.

In addition to her extensive academic contributions, she actively seeks collaborations with industry and non-industry stakeholders to bridge the gap between research and decision-making.
