Biography

Paolo Ivo Cavoretto, MD, PhD, is co-head of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics Unit at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the International Fetoscopy Working Group, coordinator of the First Trimester Committee of the Italian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and associate editor or member of the Editorial Board of numerous scientific journals. Following a research fellowship at Kings College Hospital (London, UK), he obtained the Diploma in Fetal Medicine from the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF), followed by a PhD in Prenatal Development Sciences, Diagnosis and Therapy, and the Italian Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Obstetrics Gynecology. He is involved in teaching, clinical practice, and research with a predominant interest in obstetrics (maternal-fetal medicine, diagnostics, invasive procedures, and fetal surgery for spina bifida). He serves as an ultrasound trainer for FMF UK and is involved in clinical research.
