David is an Associate Professor and Past Chair in the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health at the University of Winnipeg. David holds a Ph.D. in cognition and learning from the University of Western Ontario. He also holds a M.Ed. from the University of Victoria and a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg and is a Chartered Professional Coach. David teaches courses in sport pedagogy, motor learning, and sport ethics and his interests encompass a variety of areas related to the impact of coach education on youth sport experiences. He has served on panels resolving a variety of issues arising from coach-parent-Athlete-Sport organization interaction. David served on the Advisory Panel on Healthy Children and Youth for Canada’s Federal Minister of Health and on the Advisory Panel on Children’s Fitness Tax Credit for the Federal Minister of Finance.
