Luca D’Ascanio was born in Sondrio (Italy) on October 18th, 1977. He took his A-level with the final mark of 60/60 at “Leonardo Da Vinci” High School of Pescara in 1996. He graduated in Medicine on July 19th 2002 at “Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome” with a final mark of 110/110 summa cum laude (university career mean mark: 29.7/30), discussing a final work in Otorhinolaryngology entitled: “Audiological assessment in rheumatoid arthritis”, published on the Journal Acta Otolaryngological. He received the abilitation in Medicine at the “Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome” with a final mark of 100/100, in 2003. Luca D’Ascanio took the specialization in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery on November 15th 2006 at “Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome” with a final mark of 50/50 summa cum laude (mean mark during the university career: 30/30), discussing a final work in Otorhinolaryngology entitled: “Surgical treatment of congenital aural atresia: a comparative study” developed under the supervision of Prof. A. De La Cruz at the House Ear Institute of Los Angeles. In 2006 he attended the preceptorship in Otology, Ear and Lateral Skull Base Surgery at the “House Ear Institute & Clinic”, Los Angeles (California, USA) under the supervision of Prof. A. De La Cruz. He worked as an ENT specialist at Citta di Castello Civil Hospital between 2007 and 2010. He expanded his experience in Laryngeal - Head & Neck Surgery, working as a full-specialist at the Department of Otolaryngology -Vittorio Veneto Laryngeal Cancer Center in 2010-11. In 2012 he was called to work at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery of “Carlo Poma” Civil Hospital of Mantova, where he is in charge of the ENT cancer center.
