Usamah Hadi graduated from the American University of Beirut and was granted his Doctorate in Medicine in 1980. He then spent four years at the same institute, completing a residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. In 1992, he joined the Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary Harvard Medical School in Boston where had a fellowship training in endoscopic sinus surgery. He received the medical American Board Certification. In 1998 he became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In 2005, he was appointed as Head of the Department of Otolaryngology at the Beirut Governmental Hariri Hospital, Lebanon. In addition, in 2007, he became and still is a Clinical Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the American University of Beirut Medical center, Beirut, Lebanon. In 2009 and for two years, Dr. Hadi was elected as vice president of the ENT society in Lebanon. He was elected as the president of the society from May 2012 to May 2014. He is a charter member of the pan Arab rhinologic society. He was elected as the general secretary of pan Arab rhinology society in 1999 and is still in position he is actively involved in its educational programs across the Arab region. He is also involved in medical teaching at the American university of Beirut medical centre, offering lectures and course to medical students and residents, in subject matters such as, the anatomy of the head and neck, the pathophysiology of allergic rhinitis, olfactory disorders, and chronic rhinosinusits with emphasis on endoscopic sinus surgery and advanced skull base surgery.
