Biography

Maria da Giaria Canto de Sousa holds a bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the Universidade Catalica de Pernambuco (1986), a specialty in audiology from CFFa, a specialty in voice by CFFa, and a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Pontifacia Universidade Catalica de Saeo Paulo (2007). PhD in the Post-Graduate Program in Interactive Processes of Organs and Systems of the Federal University of Bahia (2013-2016); Doctorate Sandwich at the University of Porto / Portugal (2014-2015). CAPES scholarship holder (2014-2015). Assistant Professor of the Speech Therapy Course at the State University of Bahia. Has experience in the area of Clinical Audiology and Otoneurology. Develops research and extension projects in vestibular rehabilitation and vectoelectronystagmography. She is currently an alternate counselor of the Federal Council of Speech Therapy, Triennium 2019-2022.
