Dr N Malarkodi, Professor of Geology in Bangalore University, Bangalore. She earned her Ph. D degree from Bangalore University. She has been actively engaged herself in research since 1992. She joined the Department of Geology, Bangalore University and began her teaching career as a Lecturer in 1998 and set her primary research goal as Cretaceous, Palaeocene and Eocene foraminifera for biostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental studies, Deccan volcanism and K/T Mass Extinction. She served at various capacities in research and educational institutions through being reviewers of journal articles and research proposals, chief editor of the journal; external examiner to adjudicate Ph. D thesis and organizers of International Symposiums, National Seminars and workshops for diverse funding agencies and research institutes. She has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at various conferences. Her research findings have been presented in National and International conferences and published her research papers in high impact factor journals. She made a unique contribution as a chairperson of the Department of Geology and actively participated in the growth and development of the Department.
