Biography

I am Kudamba Ali, holder of a Master of Science degree in Physiology and currently in the final stages of completing my Ph.D. in the same field at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Additionally, I serve as a lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda. Aspiring to become a respected author of journal articles, book sections, and books, I aim to disseminate knowledge globally and contribute to the advancement of science. Moreover, I possess the capability to review literature within these domains. One of the pressing issues in Uganda, and indeed globally, is the scarcity of information regarding the use of medicinal plants for cancer treatment. This knowledge gap hinders collaboration between herbalists and the pharmaceutical industry, despite the potential of plants in developing conventional drugs for cancer management. Through my research endeavors, I seek to address this gap and explore opportunities for developing safer, more affordable, and readily available anticancer drugs. Having conducted several studies in the fields of ethnomedicine, pharmaceutical pharmacology, and endocrinology, I am currently focusing on assessing the safety and efficacy of plant extracts in the context of cancer treatment. My ultimate ambition is to establish collaborations with pharmaceutical industries to develop novel, safer, and more effective cancer drugs, particularly targeting prostate, cervical, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers.
