Biography

Dr. Chadi Khatib is a distinguished researcher and faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Manara University, specializing in Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants. He holds a Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic Traditional Medicine and History of Pharmacy from Aleppo University and an Honorary Doctorate in Pharmacognosy from the National Academy of Physical Culture, UK. He expertise spans traditional medicine, ethnomedicine, and the medical heritage of various cultures. He has contributed significantly to the field with 20 registered inventions in phytotherapy and numerous publications in reputable journals. As a passionate advocate for indigenous knowledge and intellectual property rights, he has also played a crucial role in maintaining the Damask Rose as Syrian heritage in UNESCO. He has served as a faculty member at multiple universities since 2015, a member of international juries, and a contributor to various international congresses on phytotherapy. He has received multiple awards, including the Global Change-maker in Innovation from the World Intellectual Property Organization in 2024. He is also an active reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Applied Research on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and the Journal of Ethnopharmacology. His extensive work and dedication make him a valuable asset to the scientific community.
