Biography

Bachelors degree in Chemistry with a masters and doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of Ceará. Post-doctorate in the synthesis of chalcones with antimicrobial potential conducted at the Federal University of Ceará (2018-2019). Currently an Associate Professor at the State University of Vale do Acaraú-UVA, permanent professor in the Post-Graduate Programs Northeast Biotechnology Network (RENORBIO-Nucleator UECE), Biological Chemistry at the Regional University of Cariri-URCA and Natural Sciences at the State University of Ceará-UECE and collaborating professor in the Post-Graduate Program in Biotechnology at the Federal University of Ceará (Sobral Campus). Recipient of the Research Productivity Scholarship, Incentive to Internalization and Technological Innovation from FUNCAP-BPI (2008 to 2022). Currently a CNPq level 2 productivity scholarship holder, has supervised 07 masters dissertations, 09 doctoral theses, 02 post-doctoral supervisions, and 32 undergraduate research students. Holds 13 patents deposited at the National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI. Has 13 award-winning works in international, national, and regional events. Permanent member of the Evaluation Committee of the Chamber of Exact Sciences and Earth of the Ceará Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development - FUNCAP, program coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Natural Sciences at the State University of Ceará-PPGCN (2023-204). Invited editor of special issues for the journal Molecules Natural Products as Insecticidal Agents and the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology Experimental Pharmacology and Drug Discovery Approaches to improve the performance of virtual screening: scoring functions, structural filtration, prediction of physicochemical properties/pharmacological activity. Coordinates the International Collaboration Research Project (FUNCAP Internationalization Notice) with the zebrafish research group of Prof. Andreia Ferreira de Castro Gomes from the University of Minho in Portugal. Published 242 articles in international and national specialized journals, attracting 1,561 citations in ISI resulting in an h-factor of 21 and 1,754 citations in Scopus resulting in an h-factor of 23. Was the Coordinator (03/2010-03/2014) and Vice Coordinator (03/2008-02/2010) of the undergraduate Chemistry program at the State University of Vale do Acaraú-UVA. Has experience in Organic Chemistry, with an emphasis on Natural Products Chemistry and chalcone synthesis, working primarily on the isolation, purification, and structural elucidation of natural products, synthesis of chalcones, hydrazones, analysis of secondary metabolites and synthetic compounds using Raman spectroscopy, antimicrobial and anxiolytic activities using Zebrafish (Danio rerio) of natural and synthetic compounds.
