Dr. Ashok Kumar Kulkarni has completed his Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics, specializing in Peptide Biophysics from University of Gorakhpur, India. He has been involved in teaching and research for about 15 years in different postgraduate institutions and medica colleges at different levels as Tutor, Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. He has presented 34 papers in international and national conferences, and has published 12 papers in reputed journals and full length papers in conference proceedings. He has delivered several invited lectures at various conferences and postgraduate institutions, and also acted as Resource Person at (i) Academic Staff Colleges’ Refresher Courses in Life Sciences, (ii) National Seminars, and (iii) PG-CME programs. Also he is a Reviewer of 9 international journals and an Editorial member of 9 International journals (as a Section Editor, National Editorial Advisory Member, Special Issue Editor) and reviewed 36 papers of various journals. He is now Sr. Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, MRIMS, Hyderabad. Also he is associated with School of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Swamy Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU), Nanded (Maharashtra), India as a Visiting Fellow under the UGC XII Plan for MSc -Medical Physics. His fields of interest for research have been: Biophysics, human physiology, Cell-to-cell interactions, Cell-adhesion research, cancer research, biophysical physiology, cardiovascular biophysics, neuronal plasticity, cardiopsychophysiology, electrophysiology, biopolymers, NMR, peptides, proteins, molecular modelling and computer simulations, molecular biophysics, structural biology and structure based drug design.
