Celeste Lonson is a professor of Psychology at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington. She received her doctoral degree at the University of St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland. Besides her extensive research into self-defining memories, socioemotional selectivity theory, and the self-memory system, she also has 4 years of practical experience working with older adults with Alzheimer's disease as a certified nursing assistant. Currently, she is expanding her research to examine possible cross-cultural differences in self-defining memories. Her research interests include autobiographical memory across the lifespan, identity formation, and Alzheimer's dementia.
