Biography

Dr Subrahmanya Padyana completed his BSc from Mangalore University, BAMS from KUVEMPU University, DNHE from IGNOU, MD from NTRUHS Vijayawda and PhD from RGUHS, Karnataka, Bengaluru. He is having the credit of first PhD awardees for Ayurveda from RGUHS, Karnataka, Bengaluru. He is in Ayurveda teaching profession since 23 years and teaching Dravya Guna Vijnana and Research Methodology for PG Students at Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, Moodabidri, Karnataka. Presently he is the Professor and Head, Department of PG studies in Dravya Guna Vijnana in the same College. He has guided more than 30 MD scholars and presently guiding MD & PhD scholars of Dravya Guna. He has worked on Ethno medico botany and Skin disease for his PhD studies and presently working for the research project in the same field. He has published more than 30 scientific articles in the indexed journals. Apart from this, he is practicing with pure Ayurvedic medicine in his private clinic at Moodabidri and his area of interest in treating skin diseases. Considering his vast from research experience he has been promoted as the Director of R & D wing named as ATMA Research Centre. Presently many research projects sponsored from RGUHS, CAMPCO, VGST, KAMPA, CCRAS NMPB, Hindusthan Uni Lever etc are under progress with his dynamic leadership as Director R& D. Considering his overall service in the field of Ayurveda, recently he has been honoured with SWATHYA MITRA award from Ayurveda Vaidya Sangha ® , Arogya Bharathi, Mysuru
