Biography

Having three decade vast experience in the academic, administrative and research fields, Tanuja Manoj Nesari joined All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), under Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi in 2016 as Professor, Department of Dravyaguna and ascended to Director of Institute from February 2018 to till now. Elevating the status as a center of excellence in Ayurvedic education and quality healthcare services, AIIA received A++ NAAC accreditation in its first cycle, NABH accreditation and obtained ISO 9001:2015 certificate. She proactively responded during the COVID 19 pandemic by converting AIIA Hospital into a dedicated healthcare center. She is a recipient of Ayurveda Ratna award from Indian Traditional Sciences, All Party Parliamentary Groups (ITS APPG), United Kingdom.
Tanuja Manoj Nesari currently holding various important positions, representative of Ministry of Ayush in the Government of India such as member Task Force WHO, establishment of Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) at Jamnagar, Convener of Working Group on formulation of Integrative Health System for NITI Aayog, Government of India, Member, Board of Governors and Advisory Council of National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) etc. She also held important Government positions as CEO, NMPB and Chairperson, HSSC, SKILL India.
During tenure of Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda and Unani Medicines, Delhi University, she worked for developing framework of PhD curriculum for Ayurveda and Unani and currently working as Dean, Faculty of Homoeopathy Medicines, Delhi University for in same arena. She Supervised 78 post graduate and PhD Scholars Led more than 50 clinical research projects as Principal Investigator in various collaborative project of AIIA. As PI, conducting two International studies of global importance namely double blind controlled clinical trial on Ashwagandha on Long Covid (APRIL trial) in collaboration with LSHTM, UK, approved by MHRA, UK in population of London and Understanding molecular mechanism of efficacy of Guduchyadi yoga in Covid 19 in collaboration with FIZ, Germany & ILBS, New Delhi. She published more than 200 articles in Indexed journals and authored 21 books in various languages like English, German and Marathi.
