Jayapal Reddy Mallareddy received his Master’s degree in Chemistry from University of Hyderabad, India. After his Master’s degree he was selected for one year International Training Course on Methods in Modern Molecular Biology at Biological Research Centre (BRC) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Szeged, Hungary. He received his Doctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry for synthesis and pharmacological characterization of novel opioid ligands as therapeutic drugs. His excellence of research has been recognized through the award of the “Kisfaludy Lajos Alapitvany†prize, a foundation supporting young talented scientists in modern pharmaceutical research (Hungary). He also awarded prestigious ‘Marie-Curie’ Fellowship from the European Union for career development, where he exposed to the area of Chemical Biology developing protein-protein interaction inhibitors in University of Leeds, UK. Later, he moved to University of Minnesota, USA for his next postdoctoral studies where he developed small molecules as therapeutic drugs for neurodegenerative diseases.
