Biography

Mariangela Albertini, Doctor in Veterinary Medicine and PhD in Physiological Science, is Associate Professor of the department of Veterinary medicine. She gained her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and her PhD in Physiological Science in 1993 from the University of Milan. From 1993 to 1999 she worked with status of Researcher at the Institute of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan, and since 2000 she is associate Professor. Teaching activity: Physiology and Ethology of domestic animals and Endocrinology of domestic animals for the degree in Veterinary Medicine. Endocrinology of Domestic Animals for the degree in Veterinary Biotechnology. She is also member of teaching staff of postgraduate schools of: - Small animals Pathology and Clinical Medicine - Science and Medicine of laboratory animals - Medicine and surgery of the horse. Member of teaching staff of Research Doctorate in Veterinary and Animal Science. Her scientific background includes periods of research with: Department of Physiology, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada; Department of Pharmaceutical Science Pietro Pratesi, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Milan; Department of Experimental and Clinical Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Insubria; Department of Veterinary Morph physiology and Animal Production, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bologna; National Research Council (CNR) of Milan; Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston; Eli Lilly, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA; Department of Experimental Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Milan – Bicocca. The research activity is well documented by 154 papers about studies on respiratory and cardio circulatory physiology, and ethology and stress in pets.
