Frank Eyetsemitan is Professor of Psychology, and until recently Associate Dean for Social Sciences Division of the College of Arts and Sciences at Roger Williams University. After obtaining his Ph.D. at the university of Jos, Nigeria, Dr. Eyetsemitan did post-doctoral work in gerontology at the University of Michigan where he also was a Visiting Associate Professor of Afro-American and African Studies. Then at McKendree College, He was full professor of psychology and chair of the social sciences division (comprising the departments of psychology, sociology and political sciences) and co-ordinator of the gerontology minor program. A contributor to Mary Robinson et al (eds.), Global Health and Global Aging, an AARP-sponsored publication, He works have appeared in prominent journals including the Journal of Cross-Cultural Gerontology, The Asian Journal of Social Psychology and OMEGA: Death and Dying. His book” (co-authored with James Gire) on "Aging and Adult Development in Developing Societies: Applying Western Theories and Concepts discusses the appropriateness and inappropriateness of applying key Western theories and concepts in gerontology to non-Western societies; with implications for both researchers and practitioners. All through his career Professor Eyetsemitan has been a mentor to students and junior colleagues--working closely with them in concept development, research design, data collection and publication
