Chandler holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from Walden University at University of Minnesota, a Masters in Limnology and Aquatic Chemistry from Texas State University, and Bachelors in Aquatic Ecology & Wildlife Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. He has 25 of experience in various fields of environmental science including limnology, hydrology, and ecology, and 10years of experience in education and research in psychology, urban ecology, and sustainability. He is an instructor at University of Florida, Department of Psychology, and President, Cofounder, and Co-PI for Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant. He is conduction ongoing research in NE India in collaboration with social and environmental scientists at TATA Institute of Social Sciences, conservation lands management agencies such as Department of Forests in India, Wildlife Institute of India, and UNESCO. This research seeks to understand and explain indigenous peoples’ experience of landscape and wildlife in context of their culture, and through their perspective to develop resilient solutions to factors affecting their sustainability. Understanding the psychology of community-based conservation programs is also of interest to him.
