Ellie Meyer most recently developed the fieldwork component to the University of Vermont’s Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program. She has held a variety of teaching positions at the graduate level and has more than 30 years of clinical experience covering both pediatric and geriatric populations. The most recent focus of her work and research has been in the area of home modifications. She is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist with the National Association of Home Builders and has an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications from the University of Southern California. She is a founding member of Home Modification Occupational Therapy Alliance (HMOTA) which seeks to promote the role of occupational therapy in home modifications. Her current research interests involve identification of entry-level competencies in home modification within occupational therapy programs and quantifying the value of occupational therapy in the housing construction industry.
