Biography

Stasinopoulos Dimitrios received his B.Sc in Physiotherapy, from Technological Education Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, Department of physiotherapy in 1998. He received his M.Sc in Physiotherapy from The University of Manchester, School of Physiotherapy. completed his Ph.D. studies in the Leeds Metropolitan University UK where his research focused on the management of tendinopathy using electrotherapeutic and non-electrotherapeutic modalities. He worked as a Part-Time Lecturer, from 2007 to 2011, at T.E.I. Lamias, School of Physiotherapy (modules electrotherapy I and physical therapy in musculoskeletal injuries of upper and lower extremities) and, from 2010 to 2012, at the European University of Cyprus, Nicosia, Cyprus (modules electrotherapy I and II). He was assistant professor (until 2016) and Associate Professor (until 09 January 2020) of Physiotherapy, coordinator of the program MSc in Sports Physiotherapy and Ph.D. in physiotherapy at the European University of Cyprus. He was the chairperson of the Department of Health Sciences at the European University of Cyprus from 01/09/16-31/09/18. He was the coordinator of Cyprus Musculoskeletal and Sports Trauma Research Centre (CYMUSTREC) until 31/08/19. Dr. Stasinopoulos Dimitrios is an assistant professor (28/01/20) of physiotherapy, in the Department of Physiotherapy, at the Faculty of Health and Caring Sciences at the University of West Attica. His primary teaching areas include physical agents, electrotherapy, sports physiotherapy, physiotherapy in musculoskeletal injuries of upper and lower extremities, and soft tissue techniques. He has presented his research findings in many seminars and symposiums. He is a reviewer in more than 30 journals and a member of the editorial board in more than 10 journals. He was also the editor in chief in the Biology of exercise journal. His current research and clinical interests focus on tendinopathy management using electrotherapy / physical agents, exercise and soft tissue techniques. He has published more than 150 articles and has more than 1800 citations (google scholar).
