Massimo ciccozzi is a Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Campus Biomedico University of Rome, he is currently considered among the main opinion leaders at an international level in the field of the Sars Cov 2 pandemic. He was among the first in the world to demonstrate the passage of the virus from bat to humans and to study the mutations of the virus and the evolution of its variants, demonstrating how the Spike protein was subject to mutations that can decrease vaccine effectiveness. He is currently Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Campus Biomedico University of Rome, where he directs the Research Unit in Medical Statistics and Molecular Epidemiology. He is deputy director of the School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology, teacher of the courses of Medical Statistics, Clinical Methodology and Molecular Epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies for Man and the Environment. He is a contract professor of epidemiology in public health at the Free International University of Social Studies Guido Carli in Rome. He has obtained numerous awards and grants for scientific research.
