Biography

Damilola is a resident physician in Internal Medicine with special interest in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. He is a doctoral research fellow and Ph.D candidate in Infectious Diseases Genomics at the African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases, Redeemers University, Nigeria. He has an MSc degree in Virology. He also studied Infectious Diseases at Masters Level at the famous London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom under the supervision of Dr Lydia Boudarene. His works among HIV/HBV co-infected individuals in Nigeria was the first to identify molecular mutants of Hepatitis B virus precore/basal core promoter region in Nigeria. He is vast in molecular epidemiology of viruses and highly skilled in the use of novel molecular biology tools to answer basic questions in the field of Infectious Diseases. He is a member of the International Society of Infectious Diseases, International AIDS Society and Nigerian Red Cross Society.

Research Interests

My background in the field of human Medicine Virology genes my focus is on hepatitis B virus (HBV) Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
