Biography

Giuseppe took his Ph.D. at the Department of Biology of the University of Florence, studying eco-ethology of alien species, in particular the Red Palm Weevil Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (RPW). He worked also on several aspects of biodiversity and conservation since 2003. He participated in the last years in several international expeditions, two in Malaysia, one in Ecuador, one in Vietnam, one in Africa, one in Saudi Arabia, and one in Turks and Caicos Islands for the study of alien species. He work since 2013 at CREA-DC of Florence (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics – Research Centre for Plant Protection and Certification) for improving current management techniques through the development and integration of biological control against RPW and other pests such as Aclees taiwanensis, Bactrocera oleae, Halyomorpha halys, and Popillia japonica. He published 125 peer-reviewed publications (Scopus; 21 h-index), 1 book, 48 among book chapters and technical reports, and 153 conference abstracts.
