Biography

Loubna Mazini obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biology from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France (1999) working on stem cell biology. She then founded the Stem Cell and Cell Therapy Laboratory at the Institute Pasteur of Morocco in 2008. Several research projects in regenerative medicine have been conducted in the structural, proliferative and genetic study of stem cells in relation to their microenvironment. Her work focuses on the understanding of stem cell behavior and cell functionality during differentiation and cell regeneration. A cellular therapy expertise has been developed in research programs in order to establish regenerative medicine strategies with a focus on skin regeneration. She is currently Head of the Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory in the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic in Benguerir, Morocco where she continues her investigations on improving cell regeneration with biomaterials, nanoengineering and molecular technologies in injured normal and degenerated tissues.
