Biography

Prof. S.V.A.R. Sastry is Professor of Chemical Engineering at HBTU Kanpur with over 21 years of teaching, research, and academic leadership experience. He holds a B.Tech from NIT Jalandhar, an M.Tech (Silver Medal) from IIT Delhi, and a Ph.D. from JNTU Kakinada, where he received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award.
He has authored 16 patents, 25 international books, over 80 journal papers, and 90 conference publications. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Indian Desalination Association, he has received numerous national and international honors, including the Outstanding Alumni Faculty Award from IIT Delhi and the University Research Excellence Award. Prof. Sastry actively leads funded research projects, mentors innovation initiatives, and serves several expert committees of NITI Aayog, AICTE, and other academic organizations.
