Gerardo Diaz Godinez was born in 1972 in the city of Apan Hidalgo, Mexico. He is a Food Engineer, has a Masters degree in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biological Sciences, awarded by the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico City, Mexico. He has been working at the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala for 29 years. During this time, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and has directed research theses to graduate more than 60 undergraduate and graduate students. He has published nearly 80 articles and 15 book chapters. He is a Member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico level 3 (SNII 3).
