Biography

Ahmed Ibrahim Akl had doctoral thesis from University of Oxford, UK. He had two years of Post doctoral training at Nantes University, France. Two years of Post Doctoral training at Northwestern University and University of Chicago, USA. Research focus on studying the transplantation immunology consequences. A) Immune tolerance of the graft; I had several studies on T regulatory cells potential post transplantation. B) Graft rejection; he interested in studying the role of B cells in chronic rejection, he have developed a new flowcytometry assay based on microbeads technology to isolate HLA-donor specific B cells, and study the characteristics of donor specific B cells at the single cellular level. C) Prediction of long term graft outcome; my work focus on the development of clinically applicable biostatistical models and I have several clinical publications in Transplantation and Cancer.
