Biography

Ali is a professor of Nephrology at Broomfield University Teaching Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex, UK. He is a visiting professor to a number of medical schools, universities and postgraduate institutions overseas in Africa and the Middle East. His experience in clinical nephrology is wide and for 35 years. His clinical work covers most areas nephrology, including progression of kidney disease, proteinuria, haematuria, kidney stones, haemodialysis, and transplantation. His great interest is in haemodialysis vascular access, metabolic bone disease and hypertension. He developed renal services in Mid Essex. He was a member of the specialist registrars training committee in London Deanery and a member of East of England Senate Assembly. He leads charity work for nephrology training overseas and for vascular access provision for dialysis. The charity is dedicated for developing and improving medical care delivery, reducing infant and maternal mortality, medical staff training, under and postgraduates education, knowledge transfer, auditing, governance and leadership skills to medical staff in Sudan, Africa
