Biography

Petra Peharec Stefanic is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Molecular Biology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia. She received her diploma in Molecular Biology and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science. Her postdoctoral work was completed in the Division of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science, and University of Zagreb and at the Department of Life Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. She is a lecturer and course leader of courses “Introduction in electron microscopy’’ and “Electron microscopy“. She is involved in many projects and supervised many diploma and postdoctoral students. She received the L’Oréal award for woman in science and Dean award for scientific excellence. She is a president of Croatian Society of Plant Biologists. She is reviewer of the domestic and International Scientific Journals.
