Carole H. Browner, Ph.D. Anthropology, University of California, Berkeley, M.P.H. Health Administration and Planning, University of California, Berkeley. Browner is Professor of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at University of California, Los Angeles, where she also holds appointments in the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Gender Studies. She served as Chair of UCLA’s Department of Anthropology from 2010-2013. She has been a Visiting Professor in Sociomedical Sciences at Colombia University and in Antropología Médica y Salud Global at the Universitat Rovira I Virgil Tarragona, Spain, and a Visiting Scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation in New York. Her books include Reproduction, Globalization and the State: New Theoretical and Ethnographic Perspectives and Neurogenetic Diagnoses: The Power of Hope and the Limits of Today’s Medicine.
