Roberto Malighetti is full professor of anthropology at the University di Milano-Bicocca, where he is director of the PHD program in anthropology of the contemporary and director of Cream (Centro Ricerche EtnoAntropologiche Milano). He is visiting professor at the University Bocconi (Milano), at the Minzu University of China (Beijing) and at the Universidade CERS (Recife, Brazil). His main interests include the research on epistemology and methodology, on issues related to the anthropology of development, medical and applied anthropology. He has done intensive fieldwork, mainly in Brazil, where he worked for almost 25 years on afro-Brazilian cultures (slavery, identities, religions, medicine), shamanism, violence, favelas. Since 2013 he is working on the contributions of Chinese Anthropology and on the forms of religious, medical and ethnic pluralisms in China. His 14 books and more than 80 articles in national and international journals reflect these interests.
