Susan L. Andreatta, Ph.D. is a Professor of Applied Cultural Anthropology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, USA. Her research and teaching interests coincide with an emphasis on social and environmental justice, food production, health, nutrition, and food security. Since 2001 she has been the director for Project Green Leaf, a project that was established to assist farmers and the public in sustaining a local agriculture and food system. Over the past 25 years she has engaged in variety of research projects that have enabled her to work among small-scale farmers and fishermen in the Caribbean (Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua, and St. Vincent), the southeastern region of the United States, China, Uganda, and Peru.
