Clara Sarmento holds an Aggregation in Cultural Studies by the University of Aveiro, as well as a PhD in Portuguese Culture and an MA in Anglo-American Studies by the University of Porto. She is a Tenured Full Professor at ISCAP, the Business School of the Polytechnic of Porto (P.PORTO), where she is also the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Studies and of the Masters in Intercultural Studies for Business. Clara Sarmento was a visiting scholar at the Department of English, Brown University, USA, and has been a MA and PhD lecturer, supervisor and examiner in universities all over Portugal and abroad. Among many other international research projects, she is the director of the award winning project StreetArtCEI and of E-Journal of Intercultural Studies (SCOPUS). She is a member of COST action Writing Urban Places. Clara Sarmento is the author of books, chapters, articles and conferences, as well as an editor, scientific/editorial board member, referee and project manager.
