Biography

Eun Ha Choi is one of the pioneers of Plasma Medicine and working as Director of Plasma Bioscience Research Center at Kwangwoon University in Seoul, Korea. He has also worked as Professor and Senior Researcher positions at Texas Tech University (2001-2003), Hampton University/NASA (1989-1990) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) at MD, USA (1987-1989) in the field of plasma physics and charged particles. He develops several novel plasma sources and approaches for material processing, biomedicine, cosmetics, defense application, environmental control, agriculture, and food processing. His leadership has been focused on the development of plasma medicine, which is a revolutionary breakthrough area for plasma interaction with biological tissues/cells, and application for wound healing, cancer treatment, immuno-modulation, sterilization, blood coagulation, and treatment of different diseases, not effectively treated before. With 35 years of experience in the field of plasma physics and medicine, he has published extensively (more than 500 publications) and is regular chair of many international conferences such as ICPM, ISPB, IVC, KVS conferences. Presently he is also managing Government Project for University Key Research Institute on environmental issues related to air, water, and soil. Amongst his awards is the Plasma Medicine Awardbased on the life time achievement from the International Society for Plasma Medicine in 2016. He has also been included as the worlds top 2% and 100,000 scientists in the dataset published by Elsevier and Stanford University in 2020.
