Biography

Muhammad J. Habib has about 30 years of experience in academia as educator, researcher and administrator. He is an ACPE trained accreditation evaluator and evaluated programs of several US pharmacy colleges. He has also developed and implemented pharmacy programs in Kuwait. Presently he is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the College of Pharmacy, Howard University.
After receiving his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta Canada in 1987 and training as research Associate at Florida A&M University in 1987, he joined Howard University, College of Pharmacy as faculty in 1988. He moved to Kuwait University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 1998 as Professor and Chairman to develop a new pharmacy program there. He returned to Howard University in July, 2000 as Professor and Chairman. He received more than one million dollars in research grants, which resulted in 141 publications and abstracts in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He has been invited to give scientific lectures on drug delivery systems to industries, government and professional organizations. He is a member of several organizations in North America including AAPS, CRS, AACP, Sigma Xi, Rho Chi and ACPE. His research interests include enhancement of dissolution and bioavailability using lipid based and polymeric delivery systems. He is an expert on curriculum development, accreditation process, and implementation of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program.

Research Interests

Formulation development nanotechnology pre-formulation and drug delivery. Liposomal drug delivery Tenofovir liposomal drug delivery for the oral and intravenous Namely Citalopram-HBr using a systematic factorial screening design.
